Minutes: May 11, 2021

Minutes: May 11, 2021

The May 11 meeting was called to order at 1901 hours local time by President Charles Tucker.

There were no announcements. Everyone introduced themselves. Seven members, three guests, and one dog attended. The dog was not formally introduced but was Gary Essels’ dog, Sadie.

In the absence of the secretary-treasurer-repeater trustee, no reports were given, but President Tucker said that he and Jerry planned to work on the 146.67 repeater the following day to get it back on the air. Also, he reminded everyone of the 103.5 Hz CTCSS tone on the 147.72 repeater and said the tone would also go on the .67 machine during the repair process. (UPDATE: The .67 repeater is up again, but the programming software would not link with the repeater, so no tone is required on that repeater.)

Old Business was skipped, save for a reminder about Field Day coming up June 26-27, with setup of the COW trailer that Friday.

In New Business, President Tucker said things look good for the club to use the National Guard Armory for the hamfest August 14. He plans to confirm that with the Armory’s commander the coming Monday.

Net Control Stations:

* May 18: Phil, WØRHP
* May 25: John, KAØNES
* June 1: Charles, KBØSQL

The 50-50 drawing was won by Bryon, KAØIIU. He split $12 with the club. The T-shirt drawing was won by visitor Bill Graves, N7TDK, who said he is not the former Kansas governor.

Gary Essels, NØFHF, showed photos and videos of his trip to see Corvettes and a prison. When he was done he admitted that it had nothing to do with amateur radio.

President Tucker adjourned the meeting at 1951 hours. The next meeting will be June 8 at the AMVETS.
